Musk becomes the first person whose fortune exceeds $600 billion
YNP:
Forbes magazine reported that American billionaire Elon Musk became the first person in history whose wealth exceeds $600 billion.
The magazine notes that in early December, the space company SpaceX announced a public stock offering, according to which the company was valued at $ 800 billion. While last August, investors valued it at only $400 billion.
Forbes wrote: “This increases the wealth of Musk, who owns about 42% of SpaceX, by about $168 billion to about $677 billion. Musk is now the first person in history whose wealth exceeds $600 billion. No one else has owned a fortune worth $500 billion before.”
An IPO at this valuation would likely make Musk a billionaire. According to the magazine’s estimates, its stake in SpaceX is worth around $336 billion and is currently its most valuable asset. While his stake in Tesla is estimated at $197 billion.
Forbes adds: “Musk is now closer to becoming a billionaire than losing the title of world’s richest man, given his $425 billion lead over the current second holder, Google co-founder Larry Page, whose wealth is estimated at $252 billion.” »
